Employment Type: 6-Month Contract

Probation Period: First 1 Month

Working Days: Monday to Thursday (4 Days per Week)

Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Initial Salary: Rs. 20,000 per month

Job Description

The Librarian will be responsible for the overall management, organization, preservation, and day-to-day care of Midrarul Uloom Library. The position requires maintaining the library’s books, manuscripts, journals, and other scholarly materials in an organized and accessible manner.

Key Responsibilities Catalog and classify books, manuscripts, journals, and other library materials. Maintain accurate records and an updated library catalogue/database. Organize and arrange books and materials systematically. Ensure the proper care, preservation, and safe handling of rare and valuable books and manuscripts. Maintain records of newly acquired books and other materials. Assist visitors and researchers in locating relevant books and resources. Monitor the condition of library materials and report any damage or preservation needs. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming library environment. Support digitization, documentation, and preservation initiatives when required. Perform other library-related duties assigned by the Library Management.

Minimum Qualifications BS in Library Science / Library & Information Science or equivalent. At least 1 year of relevant library experience. Good organizational and record-keeping skills. Basic computer and cataloguing/database skills. Interest in books, manuscripts, research materials, and library preservation will be an advantage.
